Lindsay Latham

Ms. Lindsay Latham began her dance studies at Fletcher School of Dance in her home town of Asheville, N.C. at the age of three. By the age of ten, she was accepted into the Boston Ballet Children's Summer Workshop. Upon her return, Lindsay began to study with the Greenville Ballet in S.C. and became the company's youngest member. There, she performed many lead and soloist roles in Andrew Kuharsky's ballets including the Dew Drop from The Nutcracker. Lindsay continued to dance with the company for three years and during the summers she attended the School of American Ballet's summer program at Julliard in N.Y.C.

In 1995, as a junior in high school, Lindsay was accepted and studied at the North Carolina School of the Arts for two years. During this time, she was trained by Melissa Hayden, Nina Danilova, Duncan Noble, Melinda Lawerence, Fanchon Cordell, Frank Smith, and Robert Lindgren to name a few. She also had the privilege of performing with ABT principle ballerina Gillian Murphy and danced in many timeless ballets including La Bayadere, The Nutcracker, Who Cares and Symmetries. After graduation, Lindsay continued her studies with the American Ballet Theatre (ABT) in N.Y.C. and in 1998 she began dancing professionally with the North Carolina Dance Theatre in their production of Serenade. She later returned to Asheville, N.C. to begin her teaching career continuing to perform professionally.

Ms. Lindsay has instructed students in ballet, pointe, lyrical, jazz, tap, hip-hop, contemporary and liturgical dance. Many of her students have been accepted into professional ballet companies and some are performing in Cats, at Busch Gardens, Carowinds, and many other off Broadway shows. In addition to directing the Tampa Bay Ballet, Ms. Lindsay also teaches for Class Source and Homeschoolers of Pinellas (HOP) in Dunedin.


Miranda Heitz

Mrs. Miranda Heitz recently moved to Tampa Florida from North Eastern Indiana and has been teaching Preschool through Older Adults in Ballet, Pointe, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical, Modern (contemporary), and Hip Hop for the past eleven years. She also teaches performance etiquette, stage make-up, dance history, and technique vocabulary.

She was a dance major at Ball State University and has choreographed theater productions, High school dance teams and Drum-lines and has been the choreography judge for Show Choir Competitions. She received her training from many schools. Some including The Fort Wayne Ballet and The Ft. Wayne Dance Collective. She also obtained her Royal Academy of Dance certificate from TC Dance School of Performing Arts "Highly Commended". Her students and soloists have gone to many competitions on local and national levels and have won numerous first place, high point and special awards. Many of her dancers have gone on to pursue some type of profession in dance after High School.

Miranda believes that dance is an art form and loves to create and be hands on with her students bringing them out of their shells to express themselves in a comfortable creative environment. She also teaches creative movement, ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical jazz, and hip hop at Tampa Bay Ballet's satellite school located at Future Flipz in Clearwater, FL. Mrs. Heitz is a welcome addition to the faculty of Tampa Bay Ballet and a founding member of the Company.


Cindy Thomasson

Cindy Thomasson recently received her B.S. in Dance Education from Radford University in Virginia where she studied with Inessa Plekhanova, Aleksey Plekhanov, Galina Vorotynova, Frano Jelinic, Dagmar Kessler, Margaret Devaney, Deborah McLaughlin, and dana bella. Her previous training includes Richmond Ballet, City Ballet, Virginia School of the Arts, Sun King Dance, and Radford Summer Art Conservatory. She was also accepted into summer programs with the Milwaukee Ballet, Richmond Ballet, Maryland Ballet Theater, Ballet Austin, and South Carolina Summer Arts Conservatory. Miss Thomasson has had the opportunity to dance soloist roles in ballets such as La Bayadere, The Nutcracker, Chopiniana (Les Sylphides), and Rock Carmen as well as having roles in Swan Lake, Raymonda , and The Sleeping Beauty. She has performed in numerous contemporary works. While in high school, she performed with the pre-professional company Ballet Petit.

Her choreography has been performed at the American College Dance Festival, Big South Research Symposium, Paradigm Shift: An Evening of Women’s Work, Dinner on Broadway, Radford University’s Student Choreography Showcase, and for site specific shows. She choreographed and produced her own production, Subordination to the Almighty Automated Thinking Machine, in October 2007. She has also choreographed for many studios, schools, and show choirs.

Miss Thomasson’s teaching credits include Martinique School of Dance, Appomattox Regional Governor’s School for the Arts and Technology, and Durant Road Middle School. She has also taught master classes at a number of schools, elementary through high school, in the Roanoke, Radford, and Salem areas of Virginia. She also enjoys the technical aspects of dance/theater and can add the jobs of being a costume designer and maker, lighting designer, light board and booth operator, assistant stage manager, and theater electrician to her credit.

Cindy will be relocating this August to join the Tampa Bay Ballet as an instructor, choreographer and as a founding company member.


Heidi Strohl

Heidi Strohl, a native of Winston-Salem, NC, is a graduate of the North Carolina School of the Arts, where she trained for 9 years. She also studied at many summer sessions, including Pacific Northwest Ballet, Joffery Ballet, and the Hungarian Ballet Academy in Budapest.

In her professional career of ten years, she has danced with Charleston Ballet Theatre (SC), Greensboro Ballet (NC), Northern Ballet Theatre (NH), Burklyn Ballet Theatre (VT), Kim Robards Dance (CO), Paradise Ballet Theatre (FL), and Gleich Dances (NY). In 2002, she performed as the Queen of Hearts in Alice in Wonderland at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Scotland. Other favorite roles include Lucy in Dracula, Odette in Swan Lake, and the principal role in Paquita.

Heidi has been a faculty member, teaching ballet and pointe, in the schools of Greensboro Ballet, Northern Ballet Theatre, and Adagio Dance Academy. She is also a trained yoga instructor and will be introducing yoga to the students of Tampa Bay Ballet. Heidi is excited to be a part of Tampa Bay Ballet in its first year.
